Welcome to the home of the Disabled Powerboating Trust.
The Trust is a charity whose simple aim is to:
“ to make the water accessible to all and see the smiles ”
Our charity commission stated objective is:
“The relief of those in need by reason of disability through power boating in the interests of social welfare and the object of improving their conditions of life”
This charity was inspired by Geoff Holt MBE, the ex-professional yachtsman and wheel chair user. The charity is honoured to have Geoff as its founding Ambassador…
…I am delighted to support the Disabled Powerboating Trust. I have owned powerboats of various sizes for the past ten years and I’ve held a powerboat licence for almost as long. I still love sailing but if there’s one thing I’ve noticed in my 20 years involvement with disabled boating, it is being afloat which gives enjoyment and a sense of freedom, no matter type of boat it is.
The advantage of power boating is that it allows people of all abilities to take part together, so families and friends can share the pleasure. I have already taken many people out on my adapted boat “Wetwheels” and no matter what their age or ability, the pleasure we get is the same for all.
I wish the Disabled Powerboating Trust every success and wholeheartedly lend my support to its endeavours.
